Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

AVID—Advancement Via Individual Determination—provides professional learning for educators to close opportunity gaps and prepare all students to succeed in a global society through achievement in school, college, and career.This in-school academic support program incorporates the latest research-based practices across every grade level. It also offers professional learning opportunities and resources that help teachers enhance student performance and build positive relationships to encourage high levels of student engagement. Some of the skills students learn include organization, study skills, communication, and self-advocacy.
