Cotsen Foundation School

Cotsen Foundation's "Art of Teaching" at Gilbert School

At Gilbert, we proudly participate in the Cotsen Foundation's "Art of Teaching" grant program, which supports our teachers' professional growth.

Program Highlights:

  • Collaborative Learning: Teachers work closely with skilled mentors and receive ongoing professional development in effective instructional practices.

  • Inquiry-Based Learning: Our teachers attend workshops and participate in instructional coaching and professional book discussions.

  • Support for Alumni: After completing the two-year program, our school is identified as an alumni school, offering additional grant opportunities. Alumni fellows are encouraged to continue their learning through unique opportunities through an application process. As part of this process, Gilbert's alumni fellows applied for and were awarded funding to pursue professional learning in Barcelona, Spain.

Funding and Resources:

  • Comprehensive Support: Grants cover all materials, supplies, and substitute teachers needed to implement professional development in the classroom.

  • Lifetime Learning: Cotsen alumni can attend further trainings and apply for grants to attend conferences or introduce new classroom strategies throughout their careers.

Through the Cotsen Foundation's support, Gilbert teachers are equipped to provide the highest quality education to students to help ensure their academic success.
